Jess & Adam had their wedding scheduled for the day Hurricane Irene was supposed to hit. When uncertainty started to arise, the two made last minute phone calls to all friends, family & vendors in hopes to re-schedule their big day. The Friday before their wedding they were able to gather guests, flowers, music, cake, etc. for a beautiful ceremony & reception. How great is that?

Honoring Robert "Rev" Story

It is days like today that I love, love, LOVE my job. Today I covered the retirement celebration of long time Norwalk bus driver Robert Story. As he drove bus 422 into the First Student parking lot for the last time, Story was greeted by co-workers who were there to celebrate his retirement. It doesn't sound like much, but the amount of love and appreciation that his co-workes gave warmed me heart and just about brought tears to my eyes. I can only hope to be loved by so many in my lifetime.

It feels great to be able to use photography as a way to help animals in need. My friend Heather has gotten me involved as a volunteer for an organization called Strays and Others based out of New Canaan, CT. They take in animals and help them to find good homes. I have been photographing the animals as they come in with hopes that the right image might help a potential adopter come forward. Every once in awhile I take a photo that really gets to me. Today, under unfortunate circumstances, I was sent to photograph a shooting which took place in broad daylight. As cops searched for weapons and suspects I saw this woman looking on from her window.

Ambrosia is now undergoing a different stage of her re-fit. Wallpaper is going up and though it may be hard to tell from these photos, she is ready for her final touches. The next few weeks will be filled with contractor's coming to install flooring, cabinets, countertops, plumbing. With a deadline of June 1st, things are going to be pretty crazy around here! Stay tuned!

For those of you who don't know, my boyfriend Oliver (also a boat captain), has recently started a yacht chartering business with some local investors. Captaining and running a charter on a classic yacht has always been one of Oliver's dreams. He has bee working so hard and watching it come to life has been an amazing experience to say the least. They purchased the boat in the fall and have spent all winter renovating. At this point in time it is still gutted, but has been put back in the water and all of the final touches will be happening between now and June 1st. Take a look at some of these photos. I plan to document regularly over the next several months!

Inkside Out in Norwalk held a fundraiser today. All of the proceeds from tattoos and piercings went to help an individual who needs a kidney transplant and has lost his job because the time commitment for dialysis is so extensive.

Tonight I photographed high school students from The Center for Youth Leadership standing in a store window on a busy SoNo street. The girls wore "for sale" signs around their neck while others passed out information to raise awareness around human trafficking.
